Visitor Guidelines

Victorian guidance for residential aged care facilities – current restrictions (updated December 2021)

Visitors are welcome at Yalukang Aged Care. Residents may have up to 5 visitors (including dependents) at any one time, with a limit of up to 5 visitors per resident per day. There is no daily limit on the number of visitors for end of life care visits. End of life means where a resident’s death is expected within 28 days or less.

Where visitors are not fully vaccinated, visits should occur either outdoors or in the resident’s own room(s), they should not occur in common areas.

Visitor Declarations

All visitors are required to make a written declaration before entry to the facility. Forms are available at entrances and should be placed in the secure box provided.

The declaration must confirm the visitor:

  • Does not have symptoms of COVID-19 ­
  • Are not required to isolate or quarantine ­
  • Have not had contact with a COVID-19 positive person in the past 7 days if the person (visitor) is fully vaccinated, is not a close contact and has not returned a negative COVID-19 PCR test; or 14 days if the person (visitor) is not fully vaccinated, is a close contact and has not returned a negative COVID-19 PCR test. (this does not apply where contact was in the course of their employment while wearing the appropriate level of personal protective equipment)
  • Where a visitor is aged under 18 years, their parent or guardian may make the declaration on the visitor’s behalf

Entry to Yalukang is not permitted if a visitor:

  • Has symptoms of COVID-19 ­
  • Have had a COVID-19 test because they have symptoms or have attended an exposure site and are waiting for the result ­
  • Are required to isolate or quarantine ­
  • have had contact with a COVID-19 positive person in the past 7 days if the person (visitor) is fully vaccinated, is not a close contact and has not returned a negative COVID-19 PCR test; or 14 days if the person (visitor) is not fully vaccinated, is a close contact and has not returned a negative COVID-19 PCR test. (this does not apply where contact was in the course of their employment while wearing the appropriate level of personal protective equipment)
