REDHS CEO, Karen Laing gratefully received a donation of $50,000 from the Horizon Committee’s 2024 Great Postie Bike Adventure recently.

The Horizon Committee’s generous support, in conjunction with donations from the Bendigo – Adelaide Bank Community Enterprise Foundation, Lockmore Financial Services and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, will contribute towards the purchase of a new Toyota Hiace Disability Access Commuter Bus to address the increased need for transport assistance since the October 2022 Rochester flood, supporting clients with free transport to access their healthcare needs.

The Community Transport service is a community resource provided by REDHS in partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service that supports not just REDHS’ clients, but also enhances opportunities for community involvement for our ageing population. This is now more important than ever, as our community recovers from the distressing events of the last 18 months.
