REDHS Welcomes Funding Support for Rochester Hospital Flood Protection Project

REDHS is pleased to welcome Federal Government funding support towards the construction of a flood levee to help protect the Rochester hospital site and safeguard essential healthcare services for our community into the future.

The project has been developed following extensive planning, technical assessments and flood modelling in response to the 2022 flood event. This important investment will strengthen the resilience of our health service and help ensure local people can continue to access healthcare close to home during future emergencies.

This milestone reflects the collective efforts of many people, including our staff, Board Directors, project team, community members, emergency management partners, technical advisors, local stakeholders and government agencies.

We also acknowledge our residential aged care residents and their families, who have shown remarkable patience, understanding and resilience throughout the flood recovery journey. REDHS is their home, and this announcement represents an important step towards strengthening the protection of that home and the services our community relies upon.
