Yalukang Aged CareRedevelopment Update

Stage 3 (the last stage) of our $2.7 million redevelopment project has commenced, which
will include conversion of the two remaining shared rooms into four single rooms, and replanting the central courtyard gardens.

It is anticipated these works will be completed in late June 2022, which will conclude the project, meaning the 60 rooms in Yalukang Aged Care are now all single rooms with a private ensuite.

New furniture for the revamped, larger Dining Room, new outdoor Al Fresco area and our shared spaces and lounges also arrived this week, providing a fresh new, modern look for our facility.

Service Profile – Exercise Programs

REDHS offers a range of low to high impact exercise programs for people wanting to improve their health and wellbeing through regular and supervised exercise.

Group, individual and in-home exercise programs are available at both our Rochester and Elmore sites and include:

  • Strength and Balance – A functional exercise program to improve stability, maintain strength, increase muscle tone and range of movement.  Classes are held weekly on Wednesdays.
  • Fitness for Older Adults – An exercise program designed for men and women over 50 to help maintain your fitness, health and wellbeing. Classes are held weekly on Thursdays.
  • Supervised Gym – A circuit-based exercise group utilising gym equipment in a safe environment to allow you to meet your individual fitness goals. Classes are held Wednesdays and Fridays.

How you can access these programs

After your enquiry, one of our qualified allied health practitioners will complete an assessment of your goals, strength and abilities to determine the best program to suit your individual needs.

A small fee is payable per class. You may also be eligible for government funding for this service.

Service Profile – Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

REDHS offers a number of services for people seeking cardiac (heart) and pulmonary (lung) rehabilitation.

A specialised exercise program is available for those with or at risk of chronic heart and lung conditions, where you can safely exercise whilst being monitored by one of our qualified team to help improve your physical, emotional and social recovery after surgery, an event (like a heart attack) or exacerbation of your condition.

Classes are held weekly on Thursdays.
