Welcome back Volunteers

August has brought the long-awaited return of volunteers at Rochester and Elmore District Health Service.

COVID has presented many obstacles but the absence of our volunteering team has been one of the most challenging.
The impact was felt right across the organisation and especially in Aged Care where volunteer interaction with residents is enormously valued and important.
The REDHS Volunteer Program is carefully structured to enhance resident, patient and client independence while supporting their physical, emotional and social needs.
Volunteers deliver meals to clients in their
homes and assist with recreation and lifestyle programs within our residential care facility.
They are actively involved with co-ordinating and facilitating our Planned Activity Group; assisting with fundraising and activities such as footy tipping and bingo; managing our magazine and sundries trolley; and resident and patient visits.
“We are so excited to be back, with a new Volunteer Co-ordinator (see right) and lots of opportunities for locals who would like to give their time to help others,” REDHS Manager People and Culture Vicki Winwood said.
“Volunteering brings great personal reward and we can accommodate a broad skill set and people from all walks of life,” she said.
“Whether you are a first-timer or have volunteered previously, we would love to hear from you.”
