NEW CEO APPOINTED TO LEAD REDHS

Rochester and Elmore District Health Service (REDHS) Board Chair, Christopher White is delighted to advise that after a very comprehensive recruitment process the board are excited to announce the appointment of REDHS new Chief Executive Officer, Ms Mary Manescu.

Mary is an experienced health leader, being the current CEO of Omeo District Health. Mary has held a range of clinical nursing and senior executive appointments, in both the private and public health sector.

Mary has worked extensively for the Department of Health in various areas including system performance, regulation, major capital works, contract administration, and health information.

Beyond her substantive role, Mary is also an assessor with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and a board director of a number of not for profit organisations.

Mary holds a Master of Health Services Management from Monash University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“The Rochester community has been through significant challenges since the October 2022 floods and I am looking forward to moving to the area, and becoming a part of the Rochester and Elmore community.” Ms Manescu stated.

“It will be advantageous to join the REDHS team prior to the facility being reinstated post the flood rebuild, and I look forward to meeting with and working with the staff and the board to ensure a smooth transition back to Rochester. “Ms Manescu added.

“The board thanks Darren Clark for acting as our Interim CEO since early May. Darren has done a great job in leading the team and continuing the progression of the rebuild whilst the board recruited our new CEO.” Mr White stated.

“The board would also like to take the opportunity to thank all staff, residents, patients, families and the whole community for their patience as we rebuild the health service following the 2022 floods. We are on track to be back in the facility before Christmas. “Mr White added.

“As REDHS moves forward, our commitment to providing health services to the Rochester, Elmore and surrounding communities remains unwavering. We are confident that our strong leadership team, coupled with the remarkable talents of our employees, will continue to propel REDHS toward a bright future.” Mr White added.

Mary will commence with REDHS on Monday, 11 November 2024.
