Cognitive Dementia and Memory Service (CDAMS)
Bendigo Health conducts a CDAMS outreach at REDHS.
CDAMS is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of experienced professionals with specialised training in the assessment of changes in memory and thinking.
The team aims to fully assess memory and provide their clients with an accurate diagnosis and individual management plan. Advice is also provided to families and carers and strategies offered to improve or cope with a memory problem.
A written referral from your GP or medical specialist is preferred.
Self-referrals can be made but all referrals need to be made in writing.
Early diagnosis is important to determine appropriate treatment needs in order to plan for the future. It provides people with a timely opportunity to learn about their condition, understand changes as they occur and cope with day-to-day issues of cognitive impairment.
